Please note this is a 2 day workshop.
Come and join us for an enriching workshop where we'll construct a Teepee Kiln, specifically designed for firing low-temperature bisque pots. Utilising materials such as copper carbonate, yellow ochre, and seaweed, we'll infuse our pottery with a delightful array of colours and textures.
By wrapping selected pots in tinfoil, banana skins, and seaweed, we'll create a distinctive atmosphere within the kiln. Crafted from paper clay or slip-soaked sheets, the kiln itself will provide optimal firing conditions.
With strategic placement of charcoal and sawdust to create unique blackened areas, we'll attentively tend the firebox, nurturing the flames until the main chamber ignites. Join us for an unforgettable exploration of the ancient craft of kiln firing!
